In an electrifying update from the music world, BIG SPECIAL has released their latest track, "BUTCHER'S BIN," riding high on the momentum of their lead single "DUST OFF / START AGAIN," which has secured a spot on the BBC 6 Music playlist. This new release offers a tantalizing glimpse into their eagerly awaited debut album, 'POSTINDUSTRIAL HOMETOWN BLUES,' slated for release on May 10th through SO Recordings.

Accompanying the launch of "BUTCHER'S BIN" is the announcement of BIG SPECIAL's most significant London headline show to date, set to take place at The Forum in November. Additionally, the band is currently captivating audiences across South America on a tour supporting Placebo through March.

Lead vocalist Joe Hicklin opened up about the inspiration behind "BUTCHER'S BIN," framing the song as a commentary on class awareness and the commodification of the working class under the relentless jaws of neoliberalism. According to Hicklin, the track delves into the often overlooked or trivialized struggles of the working class, all viewed through the lens of declining mental health and the challenges of pursuing a career in the arts.

Expanding on the themes of their forthcoming album, Hicklin described 'POSTINDUSTRIAL HOMETOWN BLUES' as an exploration of depression in its various forms - personal, social, and generational. The album candidly addresses confronting one's inner demons and the resultant feelings, without claiming to offer definitive answers. Instead, it presents an authentic narrative of the working-class experience in contemporary England, marked by mental health struggles, artistic ambition, and political disillusionment.

Hicklin emphasizes that the album, though steeped in darkness and rage, ultimately radiates a message of love and hope. It's a call to recognize shared struggles, laugh in the face of adversity, and collectively strive for a better future.

BIG SPECIAL, comprising Joe Hicklin on vocals and Callum Moloney on drums, has emerged as a voice for the frustrated, working-class youth of England. Their music is a raw, passionate outcry against the socio-economic disparities that silence voices like theirs. With "BUTCHER'S BIN," BIG SPECIAL not only showcases their dynamic range - from punk to soul and spoken word - but also cements their place as a vital force in music, urging listeners to confront the realities of modern society head-on.

As BIG SPECIAL prepares to release 'POSTINDUSTRIAL HOMETOWN BLUES,' the music world watches with bated breath, ready to embrace the raw, unfiltered truth that this promising band promises to deliver.
