Klaus Dirks, the band's vocalist, shares his personal connection to the song: "Iron Maiden was the soundtrack of my youth, and 'The Number of the Beast' ignited my love for heavy metal. Our rendition is a heartfelt homage to a band that continues to inspire us."
The compilation, "Celebration Day - 30 Years of Mob Rules," assembles an expansive collection of MOB RULES classics, encapsulating over 150 minutes of music across two CDs. The selection includes thirty meticulously chosen tracks, featuring fan favorites like "Black Rain," "Hollowed Be Thy Name," and "Rain Song," alongside lesser-known gems.
Klaus recalls the creation of "Way Of The World," a standout track from their 2002 album "Hollowed Be Thy Name," which features a guest appearance by Roland Grapow, the former Helloween/Masterplan guitarist. He notes, "This eight-and-a-half-minute epic quickly became one of our signature pieces."
The compilation also highlights tracks previously exclusive to digital platforms, such as "Hymn Of The Damned" and the Amon Amarth cover "Raven's Flight," now remastered by Markus Teske for this special release.
Moreover, 'Celebration Day - 30 Years of Mob Rules' introduces three brand-new cover tracks, showcasing the band's versatility by reimagining classics like "Run To The Hills" by Iron Maiden, "Fame" by Irene Cara, and "Square Hammer" by Ghost.
The anniversary album's artwork, crafted by renowned French artist Stan-W Decker (known for his work with Primal Fear, Blue Öyster Cult, and Rage), encapsulates MOB RULES' storied history with a stunning cover illustration rich in band references.
