On August 20, 2024, the Hackensack Meridian Health Theater in Red Bank, N.J., was treated to a night of pure 90s nostalgia as Gin Blossoms headlined a memorable evening, supported by Vertical Horizon and Toad the Wet Sprocket. Fans of alternative rock were in for a trip down memory lane, as the Gin Blossoms delivered a performance that reminded everyone why they were one of the defining bands of the 1990s.

Gin Blossoms took the stage with the energy and charisma that has defined their live shows for decades. Opening with "Follow You Down," the band immediately engaged the audience, drawing them in with the familiar jangle of guitars and Robin Wilson's distinctive vocals. The setlist was a perfect blend of their biggest hits and fan favorites, offering a journey through the band's rich catalog.

"Lost Horizons" and "As Long as It Matters" showcased the band's ability to merge poignant lyrics with melodic hooks, creating moments that resonated deeply with the crowd. The emotional intensity of "Face the Dark" and "Until I Fall Away" was palpable, with the audience swaying and singing along to every word.

As the night progressed, the hits kept coming. "Allison Road" and "Found Out About You" were greeted with enthusiastic applause, the former evoking a sense of nostalgia, while the latter reminded everyone of the bittersweet edge that has always been a hallmark of the band's songwriting. The crowd's energy peaked during "Hey Jealousy," arguably the band's most iconic track, with the entire theater seemingly united in song.

Before wrapping up, the band performed "Til I Hear It From You," another fan favorite that has stood the test of time, leaving the audience in a state of euphoria. But Gin Blossoms weren't done yet. For the encore, they surprised everyone with a heartfelt rendition of John Denver's "Leaving on a Jet Plane," followed by a spirited cover of The Plimsouls' "A Million Miles Away." These final songs demonstrated the band's versatility and their love for the music that influenced them.
